This is extremely optimistic. Is multi-polarity even realistic? It looks like it’s going to happen anyway, and for very good reasons, but I’m not optimistic that the great powers jockeying to take the reins of power are somehow benevolent actors that won’t gladly become tyrannical bastards once they climb up the global hierarchy.

I don't expect much from the multi-polar world as it sounds great in theory but the reality of it is that those BRIC nations are very corrupt and more oppressive to their citizens than what we have in the West. This article is pleasing to the ear but far from the reality of what is transpiring.

The West in itself is not monolithic as it is also not in other centers of power. A common denominator against The Empire, the dragon, is needed. This denominator will have its material institutions and its followers.
