Watch now (57 mins) | Ricardo Duchesne and Constantin von Hoffmeister discuss Duchesne’s new book Greatness and Ruin: Self-Reflection and Universalism within European Civilization.
The Portugal cap Ricardo wore on the day the podcast premiered (june 10th) was a great way to honor Portugal's national holiday! Have to check out the book, Ricardo’s books are full of great information!
I agree with Mr. Duchesne in that the 20th century was the century of deconstruction & deracination (my words). Especially, since 1945.
I've sensed (in my humble opinion), that liberalism's last stages had begun with the Great Recession of 2008, through which all manifestations via finance & culture took a turn for the worse regardless of technocracy's power to delay its gradual effects.
Or, to perhaps accelerate those bad effects, in order to force the masses back into traditions under their technocratic steering.
Are we now in, or approaching an in-between period prior to a newcoming era? How long will such last? Might it be several years? Or might it take a generation or two?
