How would you respond to the notion that European culture should be founded in the spirit of the Greco-Roman world rather than of "Germania"? Do you see yourself as an opponent of the corresponding pan-European idea, tracing a common identity to classical Greece, Rome and successive periods?
Thank you. The themes of this essay—thought and self—I explore more deeply in The New Colossus (2025) and my two forthcoming books (The Electric Will and Supreme Being).

I'm not opposed to any pan-European idea. Germania, at best, is now a diaspora—and an inconsequential one at that.
The world is now irreversibly "global" and can only be effectively opposed by the inward, spiritual turn. I detail this in The New Colossus.
Thank you for your thoughtful question.

Very interesting. I don’t fully agree especially with Shiva as Loki, but still very good.
Thank you, Rose
