Good observations. You know what the biggest problem is? Too many idiots reading science fiction, a low form of literature, just a step below detective fiction and Harlaquin Romance books. Its kid's stuff really.
It's about the failure to learn the lessons from the Garden because of human hubris of free will; the "you will be like God" (Gen.3:5) option was the "original sin" of disobedience; that kind of knowledge and loss of innocence we could have well done without; humankind as the measure of all things became one of the greatest self-delusional lies ever perpetrated in the history of philosophy; transhumanists seek to be the "new gods" desiring to replace the Creator and Creation and that means denying the source of all life which which was and is the unique gift which defines us as spiritual and soulful beings; " I now call you to choose between life and death, between God's blessing and God's curse, and I call heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Choose life." (Deuteronomy 30:19)
Interesting! What about the following experience: lately I have had some conversations with Grok about various issues, varying from the Augustinian concept of Evil to all kinds of political and medical issues. My experience was that Grok always carefully 'listens' and adequately reacts on facts and arguments that I stated. Grok was also emendating itself, had afterthoughts and changed his opinions in reaction to me. I know it is a machine. But I liked the adequate and professional level of the conversations. Grok lacks 'ego', that one thing that makes conversations with humans often so tiresome.

Their highest value is whatever they believe at the moment is ‘best’ for humanity.

Or is it simply masking its ego very well, and making corrections simply in order to better manipulate you in future?
