As the authors note, the elites took advantage of the Sept. 2001 attacks, and "American history has since been reinterpreted through the lens of the nation as an exponent of military-backed internationalism." I would posit that this reinterpretation began post-WWII, as the American newspaper media unhesitatingly (except, perhaps, for the Chicago Tribune, which was still isolationist) pushed for U.S. forces to be stationed throughout the world to save us all from a third world war. Since the media of the 1940s and '50s weren't nearly as technologically advanced as today, and with a different version of internationalism lying threateningly in the background, American internationalism remained a relatively dormant strategy until reinvigorated in the context of 9-11. "The continuous creation of Alchemical Simulacra is the favorite means by which the present global Regime holds power."
