One thing that really annoys me about the attempt to revive classicism is the residual minimalism that they just can't seem to shake off. Quinlan Terry can do intricate ornamentation, but most other firms have produced lacklustre results. We need to bury stripped classicism. It's half-arsed and we all know it. We either commit to the whole nine yards, or don't bother at all. The more monotonous stonework can easily be done by machines now, so there's no excuse. Go big or go home.
