Perceptive piece and entirely accurate, as far as I can tell. A couple of additions:

It is not clear that the Couirt has the legal authority to cancel elections (or demand a recount). Some influential jurists apparently are challenging it. Some are also questioning if President Klaus Iohannis has the constitutional authority to remain in office past the end of his mandate. He epitomizes today’s European politicians-on-the-make, who disdain their own people as they chase after European sinecures. He demeaned himself in the eyes of many Romanians earlier this year by openly – and unsuccessfully – angling for the post of NATO Secretary General. In this election, the candidate from Iohannis’ National Liberal Party (PNL) scored below 9%.

If I understood him correctly, Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu, from the losing Social Democratic party, admitted that his party did not suggest any irregularities or request a recount before the Court ordered one.

I assume that author of this article considers himself right-wing. How can you be right-wing and care about democratic elections and especially if there are women running for whatever position they "want"?
